  • The Ladder Toolkit, $17, one-time payment, optional

Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or keep your full card number.

Not veterinary advice

I'm not a dog trainer or a veterinarian, and this isn't veterinary advice. The Step-Back Ladder helps you organize a practice plan and a Cover Plan you can follow and take to your vet or a certified trainer.

See your vet first to rule out medical causes. If your dog is injuring themselves, trying to escape through windows or doors, or not eating when alone, talk to your vet or a veterinary behaviorist now.

Moderate and severe cases do best with a professional. ASPCA recommends working with a qualified behavior professional (and a vet for any medication).

The kit is not veterinary care, and it does not diagnose anything. We make no promise about how your dog will behave, or how fast. You decide what to do with your dog. You are in charge of your dog's safety.

Sources

The kit is drawn from published guidance by the ASPCA, Arizona Humane Society and certified separation-anxiety trainers. Those groups did not make, review or endorse it.

Your use of the files

You may use the files for your own dog and your own home. You may print them as often as you like. You may share filled-in pages with your vet, trainer, sitter or family. Please don't resell, share or post the files.

Refunds

You can get a refund within 14 days, no questions asked. See the refund policy.

Limits

The files are given "as is." As far as the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us. We aren't liable for indirect losses.

Organized by Paul Michael. I'm a dog owner, not a dog trainer or a vet. I put this together from published guidance by the ASPCA, Arizona Humane Society and certified separation-anxiety trainers.

I'm not a dog trainer or a veterinarian, and this isn't veterinary advice. The Step-Back Ladder helps you organize a practice plan and a Cover Plan you can follow and take to your vet or a certified trainer. See your vet first to rule out medical causes. The Step-Back Ladder is a set of PDF planning pages. It is not veterinary care, and it does not diagnose anything. How your dog does depends on your dog. Quotes from the ASPCA, Arizona Humane Society and Malena DeMartini are shown so you can check the source. None of them made, reviewed or endorsed this kit.
